About mod•drop mod•drop is a contemporary take on a traditional teardrop trailer design. The teardrop trailer was developed in the mid-1940s as an affordable camper that could easily be towed behind a regular car. Popular Mechanics and other do-it-yourself manuals published plans for a 4x8 – 5x10 two-person trailer with a sleeping cabin and a pop-up kitchen in the back. Today’s teardrop trailers have come a long way from the plywood, war-surplus models of the 1940s. This mod•drop prototype is designed to combine a modern design aesthetic, beautiful and durable materials, and all the necessities to make for a perfect camping experience. mod•drops are hand-crafted to order. About Lauren Faulkner-Duncan I am a designer-builder living in Portland, Maine. I love unusual custom projects, and I am always looking for people who have new and interesting design ideas (mod•drop or otherwise) that I can help craft into reality.
